چکیده

Current symbolic techniques for the automated reasoning on undecidable hybrid automata, force to choose between the refinement of either an overapproximation or an underapproximation of the set of reachable states. When the analysis of branching temporal properties is considered, the literature has developed a number of abstractions techniques based on the simulation preorder, that allow the preservation of only true universally quantified formulæ. In this paper, we deal with the problem of defining series of abstractions of hybrid automata that (1) allow the detection/refinement of both overapproximated and underapproximated reachable sets (2) preserve fully branching temporal properties (interpreted on a dense time domain). Moreover, we ask for our series of abstractions, to satisfy a monotonicity property with respect to the set of model checked formulæ.

Property Driven Three-Valued Model Checking on Hybrid Automata

In this paper, we present a three-valued property driven model checking algorithm for the logic CTL on hybrid automata. The technique of multivalued model checking for hybrid automata aims at combining the advantages of classical methods based either on the preorder of simulation or on bounded reachability. However, as originally defined, it relies on the preliminary definition of special abstr...

Modelling and Veri cation using Linear Hybrid Automata - a Case Study

This paper discusses the use of hybrid automata to specify and verify embedded distributed systems that consist of both discrete and continuous components The basis of the evaluation is an automotive control system which controls the height of an automobile by pneumatic suspension It has been proposed by BMW AG as a case study taken from a current industrial development Essential parts of the s...

Enriched µ-Calculi Module Checking

The model checking problem for open systems has been widely studied in the literature, for both finite–state (module checking) and infinite–state (pushdown module checking) systems, with respect to CTL and CTL. In this paper, we further investigate this problem with respect to the μ-calculus enriched with nominals and graded modalities (hybrid graded μ-calculus), in both the finite–state and in...

Finite-state abstractions for probabilistic computation tree logic

Probabilistic Computation Tree Logic (PCTL) is the established temporal logic for probabilistic verification of discrete-time Markov chains. Probabilistic model checking is a technique that verifies or refutes whether a property specified in this logic holds in a Markov chain. But Markov chains are often infinite or too large for this technique to apply. A standard solution to this problem is t...
